Reva Mivasagar

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is the leading national organization focusing on crisis and prevention efforts for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning youths. The history of the Trevor Project stems from the 1994 Academy Award winning short film, Trevor, about a 13 year old boy who attempts to take his life when rejected by his friends because of his sexual orientation. The creators of the film, James Lecesne, Randy Stone, and Peggy Rajski, could not find an appropriate support line to air for its viewers, so the 24/7 Trevor Project Crisis Hotline was born. Now the leading nationwide organization for LGBTQ youth, The Trevor Project’s mission is to provide the best counseling services and support lines to its youths in crisis, as well as expand its school workshops and programs for educators and parents. Reva Mivasagar is generously matching The Aisle New York’s donations to The Trevor Project.
